Practice Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Reception Team Lead/Deputy Practice Managers
Job summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our friendly and supportive team at Carlisle Healthcare as Receptionists. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy interacting with a diverse range of people, and are keen to provide high-quality patient-centred care, we would love to hear from you. The roles will be spread across all three surgery sites: South Carlisle, St Paul’s and North Carlisle. Successful candidates will be expected to rotate around the sites. A comprehensive 12-week training program will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to excel in the role.
Positions Available:
- 1 Full-time Role: Spread across 4 weekdays.
- 2 Part-time Roles: Covering a range of hours to suit the needs of the business, including a late evening and Saturday morning.
Standard weekday shift pattern: 8:00am to 6:30pm. Late evening until 7pm.
Job responsibilities:
- Welcome patients warmly to the surgery
- Efficiently check patients in for appointments
- Maintain and manage the practice appointments system
- Assist patients with queries both in person and over the telephone
- Provide accurate signposting to available or most appropriate services
- Handling patient inquiries with professionalism and compassion
- Maintaining patient records accurately and confidentially
- Assisting with administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice
- Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by Team Leads
Job requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.

Pay: £11.56 per hour, upon successful completion of probationary period.
Interviews will be held at South Carlisle, Locke Road, on:
- Tuesday 15th October, in the afternoon
- Thursday 17th October, all day
- Tuesday 22nd October, in the afternoon
