Carlisle's First Parkrun Practice

We are excited to announce our partnership with Carlisle’s local Parkrun, and are now the first parkrun practice in Carlisle!

So, what is parkrun? They are free, 5k events that take place every Saturday morning year-round in public areas of open space. Each event is coordinated entirely by local volunteers and they are accessible for people of all ages and abilities. There is also a 2k junior parkrun for 4-14 year-olds and their families on Sunday mornings.

What is so great about parkrun? There is no need to run at parkrun and junior parkrun – thousands of people walk the events or join in as volunteers or spectators. Whether it is to be part of a supportive, welcoming community, gain fitness, make friends, learn new skills, try something new or simply be active in the fresh air, everyone has their own reason to attend a parkrun.

How do I get involved with parkrun? All you need to do is head on over to the parkrun website, register yourself, print off your personal barcode and hey presto, you are ready to go!

When does our local parkrun take place? It is every Saturday morning at Chances Park, Morton, with a 9am start. Remember to take your personal barcode to each parkrun or you won’t be timed!
