Further to national guidance regarding the wearing of face masks within healthcare settings, patients who enter GP practices in England are no longer required to wear a face mask unless they have respiratory symptoms.
Updated guidance states
ØPatients with respiratory symptoms who are required to attend for a consultation or emergency treatment should wear a facemask/covering, if tolerated.
ØAll other patients are not required to wear a facemask unless this is a personal preference.
Please note – as with patient’s choice to wear/not wear a facemask, this also applies to clinical staff during a consultation.
