COVID-19 Spring Booster Vaccine Booking Information
Invitations to receive your COVID-19 vaccination this spring are being sent out to patients.
In the coming weeks, we will be actively contacting eligible people who are housebound or living in care homes for their booster vaccination.
For those who are not housebound/ living in a care home, please see below on how to obtain your spring booster vaccination.
You are eligible if you are:
- aged 75 or over (by 30 June 2023), or
- your NHS record suggests you may have a weakened immune system due to a health condition or medical treatment.
It’s important you get this further vaccination as soon as possible, as protection fades over time. Your protection may reduce more quickly than other people’s does. This vaccination will lower your risk of hospital admission and help you to recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19 during the spring or summer.
You do not need another booster if your last COVID-19 vaccination was after 5 April 2023, or you already have one booked.
To book online:
Visit https://www.nhs.uk/get-vaccination
To book using the NHS App:
Log in and choose ‘Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination’. The app is available at https://nhs.uk/NHSapp
To find a walk-in site:
You can also go to a walk-in vaccination site without an appointment. Check before you go at https://www.nhs.uk/vaccine-walk-in
On the phone:
- If you can’t get online, phone 119 free of charge to book an appointment or find a walk-in site. Someone else can phone for you. If you need an interpreter, please let us know when you call. Please note that 119 only has access to the same appointments as those available online. No additional appointments are available on 119.
- You can use text phone 18001 119 or the NHS British Sign Language interpreter service at https://signvideo.co.uk/nhs119
If you usually get your care at home, contact your GP practice. They should either provide a home vaccination or arrange one with another local NHS service.
At your appointment
If you are aged under 75, please bring your invitation, an NHS letter describing your condition or treatment, or a repeat prescription or medicine box with your name and a recent date. You’ll need to speak to someone before vaccination to check that you’re eligible.
